Founder–Yifei Xu

My Story

Yifei Xu is a versatile composer, performer, and music educator. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Pedagogy from Yangzhou University and a Master’s degree in Music Scoring and Composition from the Academy of Art University. He further honed his compositional skills under the mentorship of Jason Martineau from the Manhattan School of Music.

As the founder and artistic director of Musevia Collective, Yifei leads original music production, interdisciplinary collaborations, and curriculum development. His music spans a wide range of styles, including pop, orchestral, electronic, traditional Chinese, jazz, and experimental sound design. Notable works include:

- 🎵 Champagne Rose — an orchestral pop ballad blending cinematic textures and contemporary songwriting  

- 🎵 Lust & Luxury Game — a hip-hop/10-tet fusion with socially critical lyrics and sound design-driven composition

Yifei has collaborated with prominent musicians and ensembles such as the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Grammy-nominated drummer Dennis Pedersen, bassist Allan Nagel, and guitarist Qingyue Shen. His works have earned recognition from international competitions including the Royale Music Competition, London Young Musician Competition, and World Master Open Music Competition.

In addition to his creative output, Yifei has over a decade of experience in music education, having taught piano, guitar, guzheng, ukulele, and percussion. He is also an active curriculum designer and music theorist. His academic research includes:

- Modernizing Traditional Chinese Music in Popular Music  

- Champagne Rose: Motivic and Structural Integration in a Contemporary Pop Ballad

As the creative force behind Musevia, Yifei envisions the platform not just as a music school, but as a collaborative space where artistry, technical training, and emotional depth come together. He personally oversees course development, faculty training, and artistic quality to ensure an inspiring and high-level musical experience for all students.
